We’ve heard the change in sound with Chanel West Coast’s No Plans and Anchors. However, just the right amount of rapping combined with a history of rap-focused releases has kept Chanel firmly planted in the genre. After its initial success, No Plans was listed in the Rap Empire Spotify playlist, which currently includes numbers like Cold (feat. Tory Lanez) from French Montana and Bigger Picture from T Money and B.G.
#7. The Long-Awaited No Plans Music Video is Released on August 27
On August 27 — three and a half months after the release of the single — the long-awaited No Plans music video was finally released on YouTube and experienced an overwhelmingly positive reception with 360K views and lots of West Coast love.
The sensual, dream-like video features Chanel and her crew livin’ it up at a tropical destination on the coast of California, sippin’ on Mai Tais in the sun and indulging in the romance of a candlelit afterglow, after which Chanel wakes up and realizes that it was all just a dream. As fans will immediately notice, the Chanel West Coast’s No Plans music video perfectly captures Chanel’s fun-loving Los Angeles lifestyle while maintaining a distinctly hip-hop/R&B vibe.
#8. No Plans Remix on September 21
Still can’t get enough of Chanel West Coast’s new song? In late September, Chanel dropped the remix featuring Herculez and synth hits for an extra serving of R&B goodness. The remix is available on all of the primary streaming platforms and makes for an ideal soundtrack for dancing at parties or chillin’ by the pool.
#9. No Plans Featured on America’s Sweetheart, released October 23
In October 2020, Chanel dropped her long-awaited studio album, entitled America’s Sweetheart. Featuring 19 tracks — including Chanel West Coast’s new song — the album shows a Chanel West Coast in transition. Similar to Chanel West Coast’s No Plans and Anchors, we hear Chanel’s singing voice shine through in six of the previously unreleased tracks, while the remainder of the tracks feature her signature spoken-rap style.
